Product Description

S7480A-DNF2-PA is a modular servo amplifier. It is part of the S700 series from Kollmorgen. With a 48 Amps rated output, the amplifier is suited to a wide range of applications. It is compatible with multiple types of servo motors, including DC motors, linear motors, synchronous and asynchronous motor. Multiple feedback methods, including resolver-based and encoder-based methods are supported. The input of the S7480A-DNF2-PA is designed for connection to AC mains that operate at 208 to 480 Volts AC. Three-phase input is required for operation with a connected load. The input power requirement for continuous operation is 35 kVA. Single-phase input can be used during amplifier setup. The keypad and LCD display provided on the unit can be used for configuration. Kollmorgen also provides computer based setup software. An integrated RS-232 interface on the S7480A-DNF2-PA allows computer communication over serial links.

The amplifier is also equipped with an Ethernet interface for connectivity with EtherCAT and SynqNet networks. The amplifier is equipped with three factory-installed expansion cards. Slot 1 on the unit is occupied by a DeviceNet card. Slot 2 on the unit is occupied by a fan control card. Slot 3 on the unit is occupied by a position I/O monitor card. S700 amplifiers are designed for ambient temperatures ranging from 0 to 40 degrees Celsius. The recommended site elevation is 0 to 1000 meters. Amplifier operation outside these limits leads to output derating. The recommended temperature for amplifier storage is -25 to 55 degrees Celsius. The recommended temperature for amplifier transport is -25 to 70 degrees Celsius. S700 amplifiers can be kept in storage for up to one year. When stored for longer durations, the capacitors on the unit require reforming prior to setup.
