S74802-SNF2-S3 is a Kollmorgen S700 series digital servo amplifier. It has a modular design that allows adaption to application requirements. The amplifier has three slots for expansion cards. Several I/O and legacy communication cards are available. Operators can include expansion cards in the amplifier order or order them separately and install in the field. The S74802-SNF2-S3 unit comes with three pre-installed expansion cards, including a SynqNet card, a fan control card and a SIL-2/SIL-3 safety card. Integrated features supported by the amplifier include dual channel safe torque off, memory card slot, CANopen and EtherCAT interfaces, RS-232 for computer communication and an internal cooling fan. Rated input of the S74802-SNF2-S3 amplifier is 208 to 480 Volts AC. The unit an be connected directly to the AC input. Proper grounding is necessary for prevention of electrical shocks. The amplifier surface can get very hot during operation. Operators and staff must allow it to cool before beginning maintenance related activities. The amplifier produces high electric voltages up to 900 Volts. Technical staff must not open or touch the equipment during operation. All covers must be kept closed. The rated input power for continuous output is 35 kVA. The maximum DC bus link voltage is 900 Volts DC. The rated output current across the input voltage range is 48 Amps rms. The peak output current for five seconds is 96 Amps. Bandwidth of the current controller is more than 1.2 kilohertz. The heat dissipation at no load is 24 Watts.
