S74802-SNF2-PA is a digtal servo amplifier. It is part of the S700 series from Kollmorgen. The amplifier is designed for closed loop control of motors. It works with different types of motors such as DC motors, synchronous motors, linear motors and induction motors. S700 series amplifiers support multiple types of motor feedback such as resolver and encoder feedback. This feature allows closed loop control of motors with different sensing systems. Several features are available as standard on all S700 units. These include three expansion slots, support for Safe Torque Off, Ethernet for EtherCAT and SynqNet, a memory card slot, wide input voltage range and internal cooling fan. Expansions slots allows addition of hardware modules for legacy communication interfaces and analog/digital I/O. Slot 1 on the S74802-SNF2-PA unit is occupied by a SynqNet communication card. A fan control unit occupies slot 2. This card allows smart operation of the on-board cooling fan for reducing noise emissions. A position I/O monitor card occupies slot 3 on the amplifier. The S74802-SNF2-PA amplifier comes in an IP20 rated housing designed for mounting inside a switchgear cabinet.
