S74802-SEF2-PM is a modular S700 series servo amplifier from Kollmorgen. S700 series amplifiers support several integrated features such as safe torque off, EtherCat, CANopen, position controller, resolver and encoder based feedback, three expansion slots and a memory card slot. All three expansion slots on the S74802-SEF2-PM are occupied by optional hardware modules. Slot 1 on the amplifier features a SERCOS 2 card. SERCOS is a standard for high-speed serial communication. Physical media used for transmission is fiber optics. The SERCOS address can be modified using the keys on the front of the amplifier. The address can also be modified in the setup software. Communication over SERCOS is not possible unless the baud rate is properly configured. During normal communication, the send and receive LEDs flash and give the impression that the relevant LED is active. Slot 2 on the S74802-SEF2-PM features a fan control card. Slot 3 on the digital amplifier features a position I/O card. Input voltage range for the amplifier is 208 to 480 Volts AC. Single-phase supply operation possible for set up. Three-phase supply is required for regular operation. Interference suppression filters are integrated for the electrical supply feed and the 24 Volts auxiliary supply voltage. Rated output of the S74802-SEF2-PM amplifier is 48 Amps, and can reach 96 Amps for 5 seconds. The required input power for continuous operation is 35 kVA. The amplifier supports protection features such as soft-start, overvoltage detection, short-circuit protection, and phase-failure monitoring. It also supports temperature monitoring of the servo amplifier and motor (if Kollmorgen motors and prefabricated cables are used). Ideal ambient temperature for operation of the digital amplifier is 0 to 40 degrees Celsius.
