S74802-PNF2-S3 is a modular servo amplifier. It is developed by Kollmorgen. Product line to which the unit belongs is S700. Operators can configure the amplifier using the keypad and LED display on the front panel. PC based software can also be used for configuration. An integrated RS-232 communication port allows interfacing with computers. Kollmorgen has designed S700 units for three-phase AC input. The wide input range, 208 to 480 Volts AC, allows amplifier use with a wide range of AC supply systems. The amplifier supports direct connection to AC systems, as long as it is properly grounded. All relevant safety precautions are listed in the product documentation. These precautions must be followed to prevent equipment damage and to prevent injury to personnel. Continuous current output of the S74802-PNF2-S3 amplifier is 48 Amps. This rated output is available across the entire input voltage range. Rated output is only possible when ambient conditions comply with recommendations made by Kollmorgen. Use of the amplifier outside specified ambient limits leads to output derating, and in extreme conditions, can lead to malfunction. There are three expansions slots on the S74802-PNF2-S3 amplifier. Slot 1 is occupied by a Profinet expansion card, slot 2 is occupied by a fan control card, and slot 3 is occupied by a safety card with SIL-2/SIL-3 support. Weight of the amplifier is 13 kilograms. Its housing belongs to IP20 protection class. Kollmorgen recommends housing it inside a switchgear cabinet. The amplifier includes an internal cooling fan. A fan control card, installed on the S74802-PNF2-S3 unit, can be used to reduce noise emissions associated with the internal fan. Only trained and qualified personnel should install and operate the amplifier.
