Product Description

S74802-PBF2-S3 is a modular S700 series servo amplifier from Kollmorgen. It has three expansion slots for expansion cards. The amplifier requires 208 to 480 Volts AC input. The amplifier can be directly connected to a grounded AC supply. Dual channel safe torque off is available as a standard feature. Safety expansion cards are available and can be ordered separately. The S74802-PBF2-S3 amplifier comes with a SIL-2/SIL-3 expansion card in slot 3. EtherCAT and CANopn communication are available onboard the unit. Legacy communication interfaces such as DeviceNet and Profibus can be added via expansion cards. The S74802-PBF2-S3 amplifier comes with a Profibus expansion card in slot 1. A slot for a MMC memory card is available on the unit. A memory card can be used for back up of firmware and amplifier parameters. Other supported features include optimized resolver interface, cogging suppression, and autotuning. The use of integrated EMC filters, power supply and brake resistor enable smaller switchgear cabinets. A fan control card is installed in slot 2. This card can switch the internal cooling fan on and off and reduce its operating speed. The fan control card is used to reduce noise emissions of the cooling fan. The IP20 rated amplifier must be installed inside a switchgear cabinet. Its weight is 13 kilograms and its dimensions are 385 x 190 x 243 millimeters. Rated output of the S74802-PBF2-S3 is 48 Amps under optimal ambient conditions. Optimal conditions include 0 to 40 degrees Celsius temperature and 0 to 1000 meters altitude. Output of the amplifier derates outside these specified ranges. Operators and staff working on the amplifier must read, understand and implement safety precautions listed in the product documentation.
