S74802-PBF2-PA is a digital servo amplifier. It is manufactured by Kollmorgen. Integrated and optional features allow its use for a wide range of industrial applications. Features available on all S700 units include three expansion slots for optional modules, safe torque off safety feature, encoder and resolver based feedback, Ethernet for EtherCat and SynqNet, RS-232 port for computer communication, keypad and LED display, and memory card. Optional features can be added via expansion cards. All three expansion slots on the S74802-PBF2-PA are occupied by expansion cards. Slot 1 on the unit is occupied by a Profibus card, slot 2 is occupied by a fan control unit and slot 3 is occupied by a position I/O monitor card. The Profibus card allows communication over Profibus networks. The fan control card is used to reduce noise emission of the onboard cooling fan. The position I/O monitor card provides an extra SubD connector with digital inputs and outputs and an extra connector X3C with analog inputs and outputs. Housing of the S74802-PBF2-PA amplifier belongs to the IP20 protection class. Kollmorgen recommends installing it inside a switchgear cabinet. Weight of the unit is 13 kilograms. Its height is 385 millimeters, its width is 190 millimeters and its depth is 243 millimeters. The ambient temperature should be kept between 0 and 40 degrees Celsius. Ventilation and/or cooling may be necessary to prevent ambient from exceeding 40 degrees Celsius. The recommended ambient temperature for storage is -20 to 55 degrees Celsius. Storage for up to one year is permitted without any restrictions. Storage for periods exceeding one year requires capacitor re-forming. Only trained personnel with necessary qualifications should install and operate the unit.
