The SERVOSTAR 406M P features exclusively a fully digital servo amplifier providing exact control in industrial automation, containing control functions that allow for advanced integration and an array of capabilities improving motor control. The above includes 24V/7mA PLC compatible control inputs and 24V/max. 500mA PLC compatible signaling outputs both complying to IEC 61131 which provide interfacing with many industrial controller units. The supply inputs are 24V (18 36V) / 100mA while the balance of current depends mainly on the overall output load and the system has a protection of an external 4AT fuse.
The amplifier is connected via a MiniCombicon 12-pin connector with locking of the connections on PIN1 and 12. It facilities supporting data cables with a length of 50 meters and 22 x 0.5 mm_ gauge which is unshielded and supply cables of 2 x 1 mm_ with checks of the voltage drop on the recommendation for the cables regarding optimum performance. Concerning networking capabilities, the SERVO STAR 406M-P supports as many as 64 nodes in a network engaging the bit-rates of 125 kbit, 250 kbit and 500 kbit. The device allows bus runs of 500 meters at 125 kBaud; 250 meters at 250 kBaud and 100 meters at 500 kBaud. The digital outputs respond in max. of 10ms and the starting delay is brought down to 2 ms making it efficient in time dependent processes and applications.
As features of the amplifier, there is a transducer in the form of a digital current controller which implemented space vector pulse-width modulation with a rate of 62.5 us, an adjustable digital speed controller also with update 62.5 us and an embedded position controller with a rate of 250 us. This controller has a step/direction port to connect the servomotor to the stepper controller, and provides resolving, analog and high-resolution sine-cosine encoder interfaces.
