Product Description
Kollmorgen is a leading producer of advanced control solutions for automation. The company provides a wide range of devices like electric motors, AGV components, servo drives and linear actuators, and has achieved a remarkable role in the automation field. The Kollmorgen S446M- CA is part of the SERVOSTAR 400 line of servo drives for automation. The drives in the SERVOSTAR 400 come in 2 versions: Master Modules and Axis Module. The S446M-CA is a Master Module, whose purpose is to both control a connected motor and to convert the inrush power supply (230/400 V AC) onto the shared DC bus with the drives connected to the Master Module.
The S446M-CA may be attached to a controller with its integrated CANopen protocol communication port.
The S446M-CA can supply the motor an RMS current of 6 A and is able to provide the motor a max current of 12 A for a time below 5 seconds. The environment temperature close to the equipment has to remain between 0 and 45 degrees Celsius when the equipment is on. It should remain in the range from -25 to 55 degrees Celsius when the system is turned off. The full setup of the drive must be accomplished via the drive setup software attaching a normal PC to the S446M-CA drive with its integrated RS232 socket. The device allows the usage a plenty of different motor feedback technologies like HIPERFACE encoders, ComCoders, encoders with Hall sensor and resolvers using its built-in socket.
The top elevation for the servodrive to be installed in order for the servoamplifier to function properly is 3280 feet, allowing 8200 feet applying energy derating (2.5 % every 328 feet).
