Product Description
Kollmorgen delivers advanced control systems for automation. The company delivers a wide range of products like servo motors, linear actuators, electric drives and AGV technology to OEMs, and has earned a reputable leadership spot in the automation manuafcturing.
The Kollmorgen S443M-PB is classified among the SERVOSTAR 400 series of servo-drives. The drives of this line can either be Master Modules or Axis Modules. Both types are meant to control a motor (synchronous, AC, or linear), while the Master Module is supposed to convert the AC Power Supply onto the DC bus that is shared with all the drives of the SERVOSTAR 400 solution. The S443M-PB is a Master Module that supports a 230-400 V AC power supply (monophase or triphase). The shared DC-bus is a clever strategy, that allows the motors to exploit the generated energy from other motors during deceleration.
The drive can sustain a stable current of 3 A and can dispense a peak current of 6 A for 5 seconds.
The device can be connected to other devices using the Profibus fieldbus interface. The overall parameter setup of the device can be deployed to the device using the setup program attaching an ordinary computer system to the system using its integrated PC (RS-232) port (X8). The temperature of the environment in the surroundings of the module has to stay in the range from 32 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit if the S443M-PB is in working conditions. Itshould be maintained between -4 and 131 degrees Fahrenheit if the S443M-PB is off. The terminal has to be set up in an area in accordance to IEC 60664-1 pollution protection 2 which means that only non-conductive contamination may occur.
