Kollmorgen is a multinational organization that produces advanced control solutions for industry. Kollmorgen provides a vast choice of technologies like electric motors, linear actuators, motion controllers and servo drives for original equipment manufacturers.

The S443M-CA is one of the servodrives from the SERVOSTAR 400 series which can be either Master Modules or Axis Modules. Every SERVOSTAR 400 rack should be composed of exactly one master module at the beginning of the rack. This is used to control a single motor and to convert the AC power supply over to the shared DC bus for all the servodrives on the rack. The Axis Module is used only to control directly one axis. The S443M-CA is a Master Module that can be supplied with both monophase or triphase 230-400 V AC voltage. This amplifier can provide the motor a rated current of 3000 mA and is able to dispense a max current of 9 A for a time period of 5 seconds. The servodrive can be controlled by an external controller with the CANopen fieldbus card.

The module provides the user an integrated RS232 port that may be used to configure the device entirely by connecting it to an ordinary PC (note: the connection should occur while the supply is switched off using a null-modem cable with a PC serial interface) and then running the setup software. The module has to be placed in a location complying to IEC 60664-1 pollution protection 2 so that only non-conductive alteration may occur. The temperature of the environment around the device should be between 32 and 104 degrees Fahrenheit when the module is turned on and must be maintained in the range from -13 to 131 degrees Fahrenheit when the system is off.
