Product Description
Kollmorgen servo drives have continued to occupy their rightful place on the industrial motion control space. The Kollmorgen SERVOSTAR 400 series houses drive that can be used as master or axis modules capable of controlling a multi-axis system. By being fully programmable, Kollmorgen S400 servo drives are flexible enough to accommodate a wide array of applications on the industrial floor. SERVOSTAR 400 drives are specially built to be used with linear motors, asynchronous motors, and synchronous servo motors. To accommodate a wide range of industrial communication networks, this family of drives is built with a CANopen connectivity option and an ability to use EtherCAT, PROFIBUS, and Sercos expansion cards.
The S403A-SE is an axis module in the Kollmorgen SERVOSTAR series. It has a continuous output current rating of 3 Amperes RMS and a voltage rating of between 230 Volts AC and 400 Volts AC with an allowance of plus or minus 10 percent. The drive has a Sercos expansion card allowing transmission to be done via interference-proof optical fibers. This enhances communication and transfer of data positively impacting on the performance and productivity of the system. Note that the Sercos expansion card has a preselected baud rate of either 2 Mbaud or 4 Mbaud.
The S403A-SE supports cooling through its casing. As such, the drive should be mounted and operated in an environment with an ambient temperature ranging between 0 and 45 degrees Celsius. To maintain this ambient temperature, the S403A-SE should be mounted in adequately ventilated spaces away from heat generating devices. The Kollmorgen axis module can be powered directly from a mains supply by providing only a mains filter. By supporting mounting on a hat rail, the drive saves on space and is suitable for 300-millimeter switchgear cabinets.
