Product Description
The introduction of Kollmorgen drives has changed how industrial motors are controlled. To make the drives internationally recognizable, Kollmorgen servo drives adhere to international standards as described by the Underwriters Laboratories (UL). Kollmorgen drives comply with the EN50178 low voltage directive which specifies that drives be operated in an environment with a pollution degree 2 or better, and be mounted in closed electrical operating areas.
The S20630-VTS is a servo drive designed and manufactured by Kollmorgen. Kollmorgen servo drives are designed to be installed by qualified personnel who have basic knowledge of applicable wiring regulations, electronics, and installation of electronic and mechanical components. The S20630-VTS conforms to applicable EMC directives. The S20630-VTS belongs to the wider Kollmorgen S200 servo drives. Drives in this family are CE approved and properly configured to run on the non-catalog motor. The S20630-VTS supports an input voltage of between 20 Volts DC and 90 Volts DC, has a bus capacitance energy absorption output current ripple frequency rating of 31.2 kilo Hertz, and a maximum motor inductance of 15 miliHenrys. When interfacing the drive with the motor, a maximum motor power cable length of 25 meters (18 AWG), and 50 meters (14 AWG) is allowed.
Note that the installation process of the Kollmorgen S20630-VTS base unit drive involves steps such as S200 tools software installation, hardware setup, S200 tools communication wizard, and motor feedback configuration. To facilitate setup and configuration, S200 base unit drives feature a serial port which is used to interface with the serial port on the host computer and the J3 connector is used for motor feedback. The S20630-VTS supports an operating temperature of between 0 and 40 degrees Celsius.
