The introduction of Kollmorgen drives into the industrial automation market brought easy o use software, enhanced control technology, and leading fieldbus connectivity. By employing a top notch design, Kollmorgen drives are capable of supporting a wide range of industrial networks such as EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP, Sercos III, and SynqNet. Kollmorgen brushless servo drives in the S200 family are designed for high performance and should be used to control Kollmorgen brushless servo motors. Kollmorgen servo drives are ideal to be used in applications requiring precise positioning, torque efficiency, and speed control. These drives are best suited for dynamic motion applications.
The Kollmorgen S20630-SRS is one of the servo drives in the Kollmorgen S200 family. Before the drive can be ready for use, the SynqNet controller and motion developer’s kit software have to be installed. This is followed by the installation of the S200 tools software. Note that S200 software tools support Windows operating system such as Windows 2003 Server, Windows NT4 (SP6), Windows XP, Windows XP embedded, and Windows 2000 (SP2). The S20630-SRS has an on-board SynqNet option card to help in interfacing the drive with a SynqNet industrial network. Since the SynqNet is built over an Ethernet link, the S20630-SRS has an RJ45 for easier interfacing.
The S20630-SRS conforms to the low voltage directive (72/23/EEC) and electromagnetic compatibility directive 89/336/EEC. Note these directives are European harmonized, international, and national standards. The S20630-SRS is a Kollmorgen DC S200 base unit with an input voltage rating of 90 Volts DC, a continuous output current convection rating of 7.5 ARMS at a surrounding temperature of between 0.0 degrees Celsius and 60 degrees Celsius and 6.0 ARMS at a maximum surrounding temperature of 40 degrees Celsius.
