Product Description
The 502-03846-03R1 is a CSM / CPU module. The functions performed by the module on a Kollmorgen PiC900 are the following: supply of regulated DC power to hardware modules, execution of application program, execution of diagnostics on the system and modules, and communication over serial interfaces with external devices. The 502-03846-03R1 can also perform peer-to-peer communication with PiC900 family of controls. The 502-03846-03R1 has a processor with 8-megahertz clock speed, 32 kilobytes user memory, 64 kilobytes RAM and 128 kilobytes application memory. The module can be connected to an external AC power source with voltage ranging from 90 to 250 Volts AC (47 to 44 Hertz) can draw up to 1 Amp current. The external AC input is received through a 3-pin connector located on the front panel of the module.
At the output side, the 502-03846-03R1 can provide maximum 40 Watts of DC power to the hardware modules installed in the system. The module can provide individual outputs at three voltage ratings that are +5 Volts, +15 Volts and -15 Volts. The lithium battery on the module provides backup power for data retention when the AC input to the module is disconnected. Two optional flash memory boards with 4 megabyte and 8-megabyte capacities can be ordered from Kollmorgen depending on customer requirements. An optional math coprocessor can also be ordered for the 502-03846-03R1 module. The PiCPro serial port supports 300 to 57600 baud rates and can be used for serial communication with workstations. The user serial port supports baud rates of up to 19.2K and can be used for communication with serial interface devices. A key slot on the front module can be used to select RUN or STOP modes.
