The PiC 900 is an advanced industrial PC that has been designed for a variety of automation applications. The 502-03814-60R1 is a CPU module within the industrial PC and executes the application program. This model contains a ROM memory that contains the Giddings & Lewis Operating System (GLOS). The RS232 ports built into this model have been designed for facilitating communication between the computer workstation and a user serial interface. The device is also provided with a processor IC that monitors overall control. There is a RAM or EPROM memory in this model that contains the RAM and the application program. The RAM memory contains the data which is accumulated when the system runs. This module has two RS 232 ports. The PiCPro port (9-pin D connector) communicates with the workstation and another user port is provided for communicating with an optional serial interface port.
The 502-03814-60R1 maintains communication with the user interface device through the user port. The device also executes the application program and communicates with the I/O modules. This model is also able to run diagnostics tests and checks the battery in the CSM. In addition, the module is used for performing routine maintenance tasks. The CPU module can be integrated with a pair of RAM ICs to support applications that require large amounts of data. The device supports up to 1 Megabyte of memory. The memory is used for executive data, executive memory, and ladder memory. An optional math coprocessor can also be used with the CPU module.
