Product Description
Kollmorgen designed and manufactured the 502-03786-02R2 four-channel input encoder module. Its main task is to evaluate signals from four encoders and store the counter value, depending on whether an index signal or a 24 Volt DC fast signal is received. It has a diagnostic LED as well as four fast input indicator LEDs. The 502-03786-02R2 can interface with up to four independent incremental encoders.
The maximum pulse of the 502-03786-02R2 is 500 kHz, and its maximum on/off time delay is 50 ms. It makes use of a differential encoder, and the maximum input current it can handle is 30 mA at 16.5 Volts direct current. The 502-03786-02R2 has a maximum voltage of 30 Volts direct current. This model's worst-case field-side power dissipation is 1.5 Watts for a 5 Volt power supply and 1.6 Watts for a fast input supply in this configuration. With an input impedance of 2.7 K, a guaranteed-on voltage of 15 Volts DC, and a guaranteed-off voltage of 5 Volts DC, it is an excellent choice for many applications.
It is possible to operate the 502-03786-02R2 at a maximum temperature of 55 degrees Celsius during operation, with a minimum operating temperature of only 7 degrees Celsius. As per quadrature type, the input frequency can reach a maximum of 250,000 lines/second. Encoders with differential drivers are strongly recommended for efficient utilization of this unit because they provide better noise immunity as well as the ability for the module to detect "loss of feedback." The signal pulse width of the 502-03786-02R2 is 600 ns. Its acceptable non-condensing humidity rating is between a lower limit of 5 % and an upper limit of 95 %.
