Product Description
The 502-03782-02R3 is a four-channel input encoder module designed and manufactured by Kollmorgen. Its primary function is to evaluate signals from 4 encoders and store the counter value depending on whether it receives an index signal or 24 Volts DC fast signal. It is equipped with a diagnostic LED and four fast input indicator LEDs. A total of four independent incremental encoders or equivalent devices can be interfaced with the 502-03782-02R3. Additionally, this model's data is used to keep track of four separate position counters and latches in the module. Its dimensions are 41 mm x 305 mm x 213 mm.
All signals to the 502-03782-02R3 encoder module must be routed through shielded twisted wire pairs to its screw terminal connector. Because of the speed and voltage levels of the signals transmitted through them, these wires must be protected from electrical noise. It utilizes a differential encoder, and its maximum input current is 22 mA at 7 Volts DC. The maximum voltage of the 502-03782-02R3 is 30 Volts DC. This model's worst-case field-side power dissipation is 1.5 Watts for 5 Volts power supply and 1.6 Watts for fast input supply. It features an input impedance of 2.7 K, a guaranteed-on voltage of 15 Volts DC, and a guaranteed-off voltage of 5 Volts DC.
During operation, the maximum ambient temperature is 55 degrees Celsius. In addition, this unit's minimum operating temperature is set at 7 degrees Celsius. The temperature range in which it can be stored should be between -40 and 85 degrees Celsius. It has a maximum on/off time of 50 microseconds and a maximum input voltage of 7 Volts DC.
