The IDC NEXTSTEP-SYST03 is a single-axis drive. Dimensions of the drive are 5.4 x 5.4 x 2.5 inches. The maximum operating temperature rating is 122 degrees Fahrenheit at 6 Amps current setting. The storage temperature is -40 to 176 degrees Fahrenheit. The ambient relative humidity should not exceed 0 to 90%. LED indications supported on the NEXTSTEP-SYST03 include steps received, direction received, over-voltage, thermal shutdown, under voltage, interlock, regen and short circuit. The NEXTSTEP-SYST03 is designed to shut down in the event of a phase to ground or phase to phase short circuit. The drive is also designed to shut down if the heatsink temperature goes above 149 degrees Fahrenheit, if the input voltage level drops below 90 Volts AC and if the interlock connection is broken on the motor connector.
Switching frequency for the amplifier on the NEXTSTEP-SYST03 is 20 kilohertz. The maximum input power drawn by the drive is 500 VA at 7.9 Amps. The input rating for the drive is 90 to 120 Volts AC. The NEXTSTEP-SYST03 is compatible with single-phase AC mains. The output current range is 0 to 7.9 Amps, and the output current increases in 0.1 Amp increments. If the motor connected to the drive is at rest, the drive folds back the output current if the output current is set to a value higher than 6 Amps. The nominal value of the voltage on the drive bus is 160 Volts DC. The NEXTSTEP-SYST03 drive is designed for use with 2-phase motors that feature a hybrid permanent magnet. The step, direction and shutdown inputs on the drive are optically isolated. Only qualified personnel should commission and install the microstepping drive.
