The Kollmorgen MTC328B1-R1C1 is a servo motor. The “servo’ indicates that the motor is controlled by a closed loop control system. A Kollmorgen drive controller gets feedback from the motor about the motor position and speed. This feedback is provided by the integrated single speed resolver on the MTC328B1-R1C1. The feedback is compared to the settings that are configured by the system operators on the drive controller. The output of the drive controller – the input to the motor - is adjusted to ensure that the motor parameters comply with the set configuration. Other features that are available on the MTC328B1-R1C1 motor include 24 Volts DC holding brake, right-angle rotatable connections, and motor shaft with seal. The holding brake is an electrically releasing brake. Frame length of the Goldline XT 30 series motors is 90 millimeters.
The magnet stack length on the MTC328B1-R1C1 is extra-long. This is indicated by the number 8 in the motor model number. The MTC328B1-R1C1 is a minimum inertia motor. The mounting option on the MTC328B1-R1C1 motor is NEMA 100 metric. The protection rating of the motor housing is IP65. Goldline XT 30 motors can also be ordered with IP67 rated motor housings. The IP65 rating allows motor mounting very close to the machinery. This enables cost savings as cabinet enclosure are not required for motor mounting. Cable runs are also reduced which enables further cost savings. Goldline 30 XT motors employ Kollmorgen’s patented interior magnet design that enables low cogging and excellent inertia/torque for slow speed applications and for high dynamic response applications.
