Product Description
The performance of industrial automation applications has been enhanced by Kollmorgen GOLDLINE brushless servo motors. These motors use permanent magnets manufactured from alloys of rare earth elements enabling them to deliver exceptional torque performance despite their small size. Kollmorgen GOLDLINE series motors are designed to be used with the Kollmorgen SERVOSTAR fully-digital amplifier. The amplifier has high protection against miss-wired connections on 24 Volts Input Output, has full protection against overvoltage, motor over-temperature, short circuit, overs-peed, among others. The PDFF, PI, and Pole Placement control algorithms coupled with a self-tuning functionality, allows a quick and easy achievement of a high performance operation. For industrial applications that need extra accuracy, the amplifier features an in-built encoder which can be used for motor feedback instead of the rugged resolver supplied with most GOLDLINE series motors.
The M-805-A-B3 is a Kollmorgen brushless servo motor that belongs to the Kollmorgen GOLDLINE M Series. It has a continuous line current rating of 35 ARMS, a peak line current rating of 109 ARMS, a peak torque rating of 232 N-m, and a maximum operating speed of 1500 revolutions per minute. At standstill, the motor delivers a torque of 78.6 N-m and 83.4 N-m at an ambient temperature of 40 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius respectively.
For optimal operation, the Kollmorgen M-805-A-B3 is designed to be operated in an environment with adequate ventilation and free flow of cool air. Note that when the motor is stalled, it has a thermal resistance rating of 0.18 degrees Celsius per Watt. The M-805-A-B3, being a Kollmorgen M-Series (medium inertia) motor, is suitably designed for use with applications that have complaint loads or large inertia mismatches. To prepare the motor for the global industrial automation scene, it has a UL recognition.
