Servo motors used on the industrial floor have over time defined performance and precision through the use of an excellent design and quality feedback devices. Kollmorgen M GOLDLINE servo motors employ the highest energy rare earth magnets and an excellent thermal design to provide high peak and continuous performance. Motors in the GOLDLINE series are small in size but they have a large torque to volume ratio. To lower system costs, Kollmorgen GOLDLINE servo motors are designed to be interfaced with a wide range of industrial applications. These motors are perfectly designed with the range of applications in mind. For example, Kollmorgen GOLDLINE B-series (low inertia) are perfect for applications that have rapid deceleration and acceleration while Kollmorgen GOLDLINE M-series (medium inertia) are specially designed for applications with large inertia mismatches. The Kollmorgen GOLDLINE EB-series (explosion proof), on the other hand, is for use in extremely hazardous industrial environments.
The M-805-A-A3-B3 is a Kollmorgen GOLDLINE series motor with a horsepower and apparent power rating of 14.5 HP and 10.8 kilowatts respectively. It has a line-to-line inductance of 13 milliHenrys +- 30 percent, a maximum line-to-line voltage rating of 250 VRMS, and a stall torque sensitivity rating of 2.25 N-m/ARMS +-10 percent.
The Kollmorgen M-805-A-A3-B3 achieves optimal performance when controlled through the Kollmorgen SERVOSTAR amplifier. The amplifier is fully digital and meant to simplify installation of the motor and set-up of the whole system. Additional features provided by the amplifier include, but not limited to, precision torque control enabled by the highly accurate balanced current loops with closed loop sensors and patented torque angle control that leads to improved motor performance. For feedback, the M-805-A-A3-B3 features a rugged resolver. The motor’s thermal management is enhanced by the presence of a built-in thermostat.
