Product Description
Kollmorgen Goldline servo motors have changed the servo motor market. By employing an interior permanent magnet design, these motors are able to reach a higher torque and power density than previously conceived. Having a permanent magnet eradicates the problems associated with magnets placed directly on the airgap. With this design, motors in the Kollmorgen Goldline series have a low inertia allowing this type of motor to be employed in industrial applications where high response is required. This series of motors is available with an international protection rating of either IP 65 or IP 67. With an IP65 sealing, the pressure on the shaft seal should not be more than 0.21 kilograms per centimeter (squared) while an IP 67 sealing supports a maximum pressure on the shaft seal of 0.35 kilograms per centimeter (squared).
The Kollmorgen Goldline M-405-C-A1-E1 is a servo motor with a rated maximum speed of 5000 revolutions per minute, a horsepower of 7.3 HP, a continuous line current of 19.8 RMS, a peak line current of 55.9 ARMS, and a maximum theoretical acceleration of 53700 rad per second (squared). At 25 degrees Celsius, the M-405-C-A1-E1 has a line-to-line DC resistance of 0.34 Ohms +-10 percent while the motor’s line-to-line inductance is rated at 8.4 milliHenrys +- 30 percent.
The motor belongs to the Kollmorgen Goldline medium inertia series. Motors in this series are well-suited to be used with point-to-point move applications. For optimal performance, the M-405-C-A1-E1 is designed to be used with the ServoStar digital amplifier which, together with the motor, is UL (Underwriters Laboratories)- recognized. The Kollmorgen M-405-C-A1-E1 features a rugged resolver feedback with an option of an encoder feedback, a high torque to volume ratio, mating connectors for easy connection with a digital amplifier, and a built-in thermostat for temperature monitoring.
