Product Description

The M-103-A-22 is a medium inertia servo motor designed and manufactured by Kollmorgen. It belongs to the M series of the Kollmorgen Goldline servo motors. Motors in this series are best suited to be interfaced with systems that have compliant loads or larger inertia mismatches. These motors can reach a maximum speed of 7500 revolutions per minute. The M-103-A-22 features a rugged resolver feedback, rear shaft extensions, a high torque to volume ratio, and a built in thermostat. For certification, the motor is recognized by the Underwriters Laboratories. The motor supports options such as a fail-safe brake, mating connectors, NEMA mounting, and front mounted gearheads.

The M-103-A-22, as with other Kollmorgen motors, supports either an IP 65 or an IP 67 sealing. Note that an IP 65 sealing prevents against water projected by a nozzle/jet getting to the inside of the motor while an IP 67 sealing is able to protect the internal components of the motor from water even when the motor has been immersed in water. The motor has a horsepower rating or 0.73 HP, a rated power of 0.54 kilo Watts, a continuous stall torque of 0.84 N-m at 40 degrees Celsius and a peak torque of 2.41 N-m.

Additionally, the motor has a stall torque sensitivity of 0.35 N-m/Amp RMS, a peak line current of 7.2 Amps RMS, and a maximum theoretical acceleration of 11400 rad per second (squared). Being a Kollmorgen brushless servo motor, the M-103-A-22 has a long service life, and is maintenance free. The motor’s long service life is supported by the usage of long life bearings. The motor has its service life backed by a one-year warranty and its weight stands at 3.2 kilograms.
