Product Description
The KSM 131-R is an Input Output extension module manufactured by Kollmorgen. It’s designed to be used with Kollmorgen KSM 100 modular series. The module features light emitting diodes to help in monitoring and troubleshooting. It has 12 safe inputs with 8 supporting output signal switching device (OSSD), 2 safe I/O’s that can be configured as outputs or inputs, 2 messaging outputs, and 4 safe relay outputs. Note that the KSM 131-R supports contact amplification using external contactors and has short circuit monitoring capabilities. The KSM 131-R has a maximum power consumption of 3.8 Watts.
The KSM 131-R, as with other Kollmorgen KSM modules, supports a nominal input voltage of 24 Volts DC, a minimum of 20.4 Volts DC (nominal – 15 percent) and a maximum of 28.8 Volts DC (nominal + 20 percent). Note that the KSM 100 modular series supports an interference voltage resistance of 32 Volts DC which is protected by suppressor diodes at the input. Also, the quick-acting fuse or miniature circuit breaker should be used with the KSM 100 module. The module can be used to monitor conditions such as the pre-defined sense of rotation or direction of movement by employing the safe direction indication (SDI) function, minimum speed using the safe limited speed (SLS) function, standstill monitoring using the safe operating stop (SOS) function, among others.
The KSM 131-R has a height, depth, and width of 100 millimeters, 115 millimeters, and 90 millimeters respectively and weighs 300 grams. The module operates optimally at an environment with an ambient temperature ranging from a maximum of 50.0 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 0.0 degrees Celsius. The module should not be operated or stored in environments prone to condensing humidity.
