Product Description
The Kollmorgen KSM 131 is a digital I/O extension module for the KSM 100 series. It’s interfaced with the main module by clicking it on the back-plane-connector. The module features 10 safe Inputs Outputs which can be selectively be configured to be either become inputs or outputs. It also features 12 additional safe inputs. The KSM 131 has two messaging outputs, supports short circuit monitoring, and multiplexing of contact or contact amplification via external contactors in connection with internal monitoring. Additionally, the module features 2 standard output lines, 2 pulse output lines (cross-short-cut detection), and allows connection through terminal blocks.
The module has a maximum power consumption of 3.8 Watts, a rated data digital input voltage of 24 Volts DC at a current of 20 milli Amperes and a output rated voltage of 24 Volts DC at a current of 250 milli Amperes. At the pulse output lines, the KSM 131 accommodates a maximum current of 250 milli Amperes. The module mounts on standard head rail. When installing the module, incoming power must be locked out and the module must be de-energized before installation. Also, to counter the harmful effects, of electrostatic discharge, the module should be grounded using, for example, an earthing strap.
For monitoring and troubleshooting, the KSM 131 has 12 status light emitting diodes (LEDs) for the inputs and 10 status LEDs for the I/O. Note that only two Kollmorgen KSM 131 modules can be operated with one basic unit. To configure the physical address on the module, the bus address must be set using the address switch found at the back of the module. The address ranges from 1 to 5.
