Product Description
The Kollmorgen KSM 122A is an axis extension module with two analog inputs. Apart from analog inputs, the module has 12 secure digital inputs and is designed to support 2 axes and 1 encoder solution as periphery options. The KSM 122A has clamp-type terminals to facilitate connections, supports a D-SUB 9 pole type of connection. The cycle frequency for the module stands at 150 kilo Hertz for the master mode and a maximum of 250 kilo Hertz for the slave mode. For mounting, the module snaps on a standard rail, it supports a maximum conductor size of 1.5 millimeters (squared), and weighs 310 grams.
The KSM 122A, as with other Kollmorgen safety modules, has a rated storage temperature of between -10 degrees Celsius and +70 degrees Celsius while its operating temperature is rated at between 0 degrees Celsius and 50 degrees Celsius. some characteristic features of the module include, but not limited to, having a parameterized encoder interface and extensive diagnostic functions. The module’s utilization period is 20 years while its international protection rating is IP 52. For the supply voltage, the module has rating of 24 Volts DC with a tolerance of between -15 percent and +20 percent. the power and current rating stand at 2.4 Watts and 2.0 Amperes respectively.
To avoid injury to personnel and or other devices, the installation of the KSM 122A, as with other Kollmorgen modules, should be done by qualified technicians. Also, the module must be used according to Kollmorgen’s specifications. Commissioning of the Kollmorgen axis extension module should be done after adequate EMC testing has been done as stipulated in the EN55011:2007, A2:2007, and EN 61000-6-2:2005 directive.
