Product Description
The Kollmorgen KSM 100-2 is a programmable logic controller for machinery and automation plant equipment. It is part of the KSM-modular safety PLC family. Controllers in this family support up to 12 safe axes, up to 8 expansion modules, up to 3000 function blocks, and one safe relay output. The KSM 100-2, as with other Kollmorgen safety modules (KSM) is employed in a system to provide reliable and safe drive control. Interfacing the controller to the system enables user configuration. The controller supports the Kollmorgen SafePLC, a program editor that employs functional blocks to graphically prepare sequencing programs.
The SafePLC program performs tasks such as examining open connectors in the logic diagram, examining boundary conditions for the monitoring functions, examining the correct distribution of cross-circuit pulse numbers, and the generation of a transferable OP programming code. The controller supplies 20 safe Inputs Outputs, 14 safe inputs (inclusive of 8 OSSD), and 3 safe cut off channels. Being a controller, it has memory card slots for program and configuration changes. Connections to the controller are made through on-board pluggable terminals. The KSM 100-2 has a rated input voltage of 24 Volts DC and a rated current of 2 Amperes. Note that the controller supports a maximum fuse on supply voltage of 2 Amperes.
The KSM 100-2 has a maximum cross-short-cut-detection on pulse output lines of 250 milliAmperes, a rated data relay output of 24 Volts DC at a current of 2 Amperes and 239 Volts AC at a current 2 Amperes. Also, the controller has rated data digital in of 24 Volts DC (20 milliAmperes) and a rated data digital out of 24 Volts DC (250 milliAmperes).
