Product Description
With recognition from Underwriters Laboratories, the Kollmorgen Goldline family of servo motors have revolutionized the factory automation industry when it comes to motion control. Apart from standard motors, these family of motors features co-engineered options to cater for even the most demanding and specific industrial application. Goldline series motors are designed for explosion-prone environments, underwater operation, among other harsh industrial environments. These motors have a compact design and use rare earth permanent magnets allowing them to have a high-power density and save on space on the factory floor. By having low or medium inertia, Goldline series of servo motors are ideal for use in high response, point-to-point motion applications.
The Kollmorgen B-102-A-94-B9-025 is a permanent magnet servo motor in the B series in the wider Goldline series. The motor has a low inertia and an operating voltage rating of 230 Volts AC. It has a rugged resolver feedback enabling accurate positioning even when mounted and operated in relatively harsh environments. By belonging to the Class H insulation, the B-102-A-94-B9-025 can provide optimum performance at an average winding temperature rise of 150 degrees Celsius and a maximum winding temperature of 180 degrees Celsius.
With the B-102-A-94-B9-025 supporting a fail-safe brake option, it can be used with applications that require the shaft to stop rotating when electrical power is removed. The B-102-A-94-B9-025 is designed to be controlled using the Kollmorgen Servostar digital amplifier. The Servostar amplifier provides precision torque control due to precision balanced current loops with closed loop sensors. To precisely control Goldline series motors, the digital amplifier uses either PDFF, pole placement, or PI control algorithms. The amplifier’s advanced sinewave commutation technology enables smooth motor control even at low speeds.
