Product Description
Kollmorgen manufacturing stays ahead of the competition—especially in the stepper motor market—with consistency and innovation in their new releases. The E32NRFA-LNN-NS-00 is one of the hybrid stepper motors produced by Kollmorgen, and being a part of their E-series, it features the innovative Sigmax technology. Sigmax-type motors have a higher torque efficiency than their counterparts, with the application of full flux linkages across their stators. This is achieved with the use of additional rare-earth magnets, placed strategically between each stator tooth. This blocks the flow of magnetic field around the stator teeth and concentrates the needed torque-producing flux on each stator tooth (where torque is generated). The efficiency of this technology has made Sigmax a renowned technology, which facilitates the manufacture of powerful steppers with small frames—like the E32NRFA-LNN-NS-00.
The E32NRFA-LNN-NS-00 has the following general specifications, based on its product code: it is a NEMA 34 category motor, with a diameter of 3.34 inches. It has a two-stack rotor, and the overall structure is supported with a standard NEMA mount. It features a regular/lead wire type of construction and is wound in a unipolar connection with 8 leads. It as an “A” winding type, a laminated rotor type, and a smooth shaft in a ‘single’ shaft configuration.
Since steppers are also considered in terms of their holding torque, detent torque, resolution, and other related characteristics, the E32NRFA-LNN-NS-00 is defined for the following performance specifications: a holding torque of 3.13Nm, due to its unipolar connection; this holding torque can, however, be improved in a bipolar series or parallel configuration. A detent torque of 0.3Nm, rotor moment of inertia of 0.12 ×10-3 kgm2, phase current, resistance and inductances of 4.0 A (D.C), 0.78 ohms and 3.7H respectively, and a weight of 2.41kg. Finally, this stepper comes with all standard parts, no shaft seal, and does not support encoder feedback.
