The DSA 015-230-S belongs to the DSA family of advanced digital servo drives, designed and manufactured by Kollmorgen. It is primarily designed to simplify drive applications with its high performance and flexibility. In addition, this drive can be used with AC sinusoidal brushless motors for noiseless and efficient operations across a variety of industrial applications. It is also effective as an analog servo drive and is a suitable alternative for stepper drives.

The DSA 015-230-S is operated with a single-phase AC supply voltage value within limits of 100 V and 240 V. The required AC input frequency for its operation is within the range of 47 Hz to 63 Hz. Its continuous power output with a 115 V AC input is 0.5 kW. With a 230 V AC input, its continuous power output is 1.0kW. The servo amplifier can also deliver 5A of continuous output current and up to 15A of peak current output. It uses 8 current-sinking digital inputs between 12V to 24V and 4 current sourcing digital outputs within the same voltage range. Its input-output response time is 100 μsec. It can also absorb up to 125 Joules of energy with an AC input of 115 V.

Encoders compatible with the DSA 015-230-S for motor feedback are incremental, multiturn absolute, and single turn (high resolution) encoders. The servo amplifier’s configuration can be done remotely on Kollmorgen’s user-friendly DSAPro software. Troubleshooting and monitoring of the device can also be done on this software. With its SERCOS feature, the DSA 015-230-S communicates at high speed using fiber optics. Environmental requirements for its use are a maximum ambient temperature of 55° C and a 1500 m installation altitude.
