Kollmorgen designed and manufactured the DSA series of digital servo drives as an inventive drive system solution with universal applications. Drives in this series are highly flexible and adaptable to different systems for improved functionality and excellent results. The DSA 015-230-P is a drive model in this series, and it weighs 2.1 kg. It is an optional positioning drive that can save up to 64 index moves in its internal memory for single-axis motion control.

There are 8 inputs, 4 outputs, and 1 relay output on the DSA 015-230-P. Its single-phase AC voltage supply ranges between 100 V and 240 V. The input frequency for this voltage is within the range of 47 – 63 Hz. It can absorb up to 125 Joules of energy at 115 V AC input and 51 Joules at 230 V AC input. The continuous power output of the digital servo drive with 115 V and 230 V is 0.5 kW and 1.0 kW, respectively. Its output peak current is 15 A, and for electromagnetic compatibility, its filters are housed internally. Like other drives in the series, the DSA 015-230-P is equipped with a standard incremental encoder but is compatible with other types.

Command source options for the DSA 015-230-P include auxiliary master encoder input with electronic gearing, RS-232/485 commands, and step input with electronic gearing. Its design is optimized for a high-velocity loop bandwidth. Replacing the drive with another in the series is also simplified as parameters set up for one drive can be saved in a non-volatile personality module or a disk. Its parameter management can be done remotely on the DSAPro software as with other DSA drives.
