Product Description

CTP33NLS59KAA00 is a step motor manufactured by Kollmorgen. It is part of the new CT Series and is designed with two windings (phases).  The windings are energized with DC current. The shaft rotates one step (1.80) after the current in one winding is reserved and magnetically held in the new locations. The step motor’s speed and location are controlled precisely by switching the current in every winding consecutively. The CT Series can be used in a broad range of motion control applications due to simple control and high torque output.

To achieve higher resolution and smooth operation, every step is split into numerous increments by micro-stepping drives, which control the total current in every phase.  The total current and voltage being supplied by a drive determines how CT Series motors perform. Kollmorgen has designed the CTP33NLS59KAA00 to work with any drive. It can work well with drives of different voltage and current ratings. The holding torque is commonly used to differentiate CT Series because the performance of the step motors differs from the drive.

The holding torque stipulates the maximum torque to apply to a shaft without making the motor shaft rotate. It is energized with rated DC current and calculated with the step motor at a halt. It is crucial to consider that since the CT Series Step motor is stimulated by pure DC Current, the holding torque is not dictated by the characteristics of the drive. As the applied voltage/ current to the CTP33NLS59KAA00 changes, so does the performance of the step motor. The CT Series by Kollmorgen also come integrated with patented enhancing technology to provide the full performance, improved efficiency along with high torque at all speeds.
