Product Description
The Kollmorgen CR10251 is a Servostar CD drive amplifier. It belongs to the Series 2 product line as is indicated by the fifth letter in the type of number which is 2. An updated version of the amplifiers, known as Series 5, is also available. The CR10251 features a SERCOS interface and 230 Volts logic input. The amplifier can receive resolver feedback. Amplifiers that support encoder and sine encoder feedback can be ordered as per requirements. The amplifier uses either single or multi-speed resolver feedback to monitor the motor shaft position. A resolver may be considered as a transformer which has an output that it unique for any given shaft position. The resolver is driven by a sine wave reference signal. The specifications for the resolver input include 0.47 transformation ratio, 7 to 8 kilohertz modulation frequency, 4.24 Volts AC input, 120 Ohms maximum resistance and 2 Volts AC output voltage.
A shielded cable should be used for resolver feedback. The cable should be kept away from noise-producing devices and cables. Cables with maximum length of 75 feet have been tested by Kollmorgen without performance degradation. The recommended type of feedback cable is twisted-shielded pair. The current rating of the CR10251 amplifier is 10 Amps. The peak current at the output of the drive is 20 Amps for 500 milliseconds. The CR10251 amplifier is designed for 230 Volts AC input. The continuous current drawn by the amplifier is 13 Amps and the peak current drawn is 26 Amps. The power drawn by the amplifier is 4.6 kVA for three-phase input. The Servostar series of amplifiers can be used with various Kollmorgen servo motors including Goldline XT 30, XT 50 and XT 70.
