Product Description
The CE20560 is a Series 5 Servostar drive amplifier. Typical applications for the drive include machine tooling, electronic assembly, document handing and packaging. The drive is available in a compact housing that enables space savings. The drive can be programmed via the Motionlink software which runs on a Windows PC and communicates with the drive over serial or SERCOS communication links. It supports encoder feedback. In contrast to the resolver, the encoder is an incremental device that indicates the change in motor position. The resolution of the encoder is fixed as it is a hardware characteristic. The system voltage for the encoder is 5 Volts DC. The maximum input frequency from the encoder is 3 megahertz (before quad) and 12 megahertz (after quad). The maximum feedback cable length is 50 feet. The encoder draws maximum 250 milliamps from the drive.
A separate voltage regulator is provided for the encoder. Other protection features on the encoder include broken wire detection and illegal hall code detection. The rated output current for the CE20560 is 20 Amps. The logic power rating for the external supply is 24 Volts. Control interface on the CE20560 is analog. Compared to the Series 2 drives, the Series 5 drives support new features such as sine encoder with interpolation level of 4096, sine encoder calibration, SERCOS interface compliance, encoder simulation, encoder stimulation, software resolver and additional I/O. A new description label is attached to Series 5 drives that lists the model number, serial number and the firmware version. The CE20560 is designed for vertical mounting inside a suitable industrial enclosure. The CE20560 drive and the motor it controls should only be installed and operated by trained personnel.
