The CB20560 is a 20 Amps rated Servostar servo motor amplifier from Kollmorgen. In terms of the form, fit and function the Series 5 amplifiers have proved to be backward compatible with the previous generation of amplifiers i.e. Series 2 amplifiers. Upon receipt, the amplifier should be checked for visible damage. The amplifier is designed for panel mounting: the panel should then me mounted in a metallic enclosure. During mounting, orientation should be kept vertical. Metal to metal contact is essential for control of electrical noise. Solid earth ground should be connected to frames of all the components. During installation it should be ensured that all electrical and safety codes are met. Startup processes can cause the motor to move: therefore, safety precautions should be taken to prevent harm to personnel or damage to equipment. The CB20560 should not be sued with power networks that either are not earthed or use an asymmetrical earth.
The CB20560 is designed for mounting in a closed switch gear cabinet. It has a rated current output of 20 Amps. The feedback device is a sine encoder. The amplifier features analog interface and 24 Volts logic power. Environmental specifications for the CB20560 include 5 to 45 degrees Celsius operating temperature, 0 to 70 degrees Celsius storage temperature, 10 to 90% operating relative humidity, atmosphere free of dust and corrosive gases, altitude of up to 1000 meters and 0.5 g vibration. Communication with the CB20560 is possible through either a serial port or the SERCOS interface. The serial port supports 9600 to 19200 baud rates in RS-232 or RS-485 configuration. Multiple drives can be accessed when connected in a daisy-chain configuration.
