Product Description
The B8962 NP-LMTR is a dual-axis smart servo drive without a font panel. It is designed for use with linear motors from IDC. The front panel is however available as an option and can be ordered separately if required. Other accessories that are available as options include external regenerative power dissipation modules rated for 115 / 230 Volts AC and a thumbwheel input module. The two main components of the B8962 NP-LMTR are a servo amplifier and a machine controller. The drive uses DSP technology for closed loop servo control for a variety of permanent magnet and brushless servo motor and actuators. Vector control algorithm is supported on the drive and enables high bandwidth velocity and torque control. The drive can be programmed using the keypad or PC based software.
For PC based programming, the B8962 NP-LMTR connects to the PC over a serial interface which terminates on the RS-232 serial interface. Items that are included in the drive shipment are a AC power cable, application development software and the B8962 NP-LMTR smart drive. Input of the drive is designed to accept three-phase 90 to 240 Volts AC input. The maximum power input to the drive is 1150 VA at 115 Volts AC and 2300 VA at 230 Volts AC. The maximum current drawn by the drive is 10 Amps and the continuous or average current input is 5 Amps. The maximum operating temperature is 55 degrees Celsius. For operation at higher temperatures, IDC recommends ordering a fan kit for the heat sink. The ambient relative humidity range is 0 to 90%. Drive handling and operation should only be carried out by trained personnel.
