Product Description
The B8961 is a DSP-based single-axis brushless servo drive from Industrial Devices Corporation. It is designed for industrial motion control application. Features of the drive include integrated motion controller, power supply, operator interface, digital servo drive and 30 I/Os. Other drive features include a sophisticated servo controller that can manage velocity, position, and torque simultaneously which makes the device ideal for applications involving automated fastening, clamping, and drilling. An optional keypad can be used for programming and for operator input. The keypad is IP65 rated when panel mounted and comes with an easy to read 40-character display. Motion control on the B8961 features 6 kilobytes memory for 199 user programs, interrupt driven inputs-registration and user scaling for position, acceleration, and velocity. The IDC Motion software, which is a Windows-based application, is provided with the drive.
The drive is CE compliant. The B8961 is designed for operation at single-phase AC input at values ranging from 90 to 240 Volts. The maximum input power rating is 1150 VA at 115 volts AC and 2300 VA at 230 Volts AC. The current capability protection rating for the B8961 is 5 Amps continuous and 10 Amps peak. The drive comes with an integrated differential quadrature incremental encoder. Power consumption of the encoder is 200 milliamps at 5 Volts DC. communication interface on the B8961 is a RS-232 serial port with 3-wire implementation that supports 9600 baud rate. The B8961 is designed to shutdown if the heat-sink temperature exceeds 131 degrees Fahrenheit. Some applications may require the heat-sink to be fitted with a fan kit for higher operating temperature requirements. Mounting depth of the drive is 5.9 inches, the height is 9 inches and the width is 3.73 inches.
