The AKM73Q-ANCNR-00 is a brushless DC synchronous servomotor manufactured by Kollmorgen. The motor is designed to be used for drives for equipment that require high stability and dynamics. The device must be operated only under the ambient conditions mentioned and defined in the product documentation. The unit must not be connected directly to the mains supply network. The unit comes with a flange size of 188 mm and rotor length of 3. The motor features Q winding type and is equipped with a resolver feedback device. There is no brake in the servomotor.
The device comes with angular connectors that can be rotated. The connectors facilitate power supply and feedback signals. The motor features a smooth shaft design. The AKM servomotor (with fan) has a moment of inertia of 92 J for the rotor. With fan, its torque constant is 1.70 Nm/A and its voltage constant is 109 mV/min. A three-phase industrial supply network can be used to connect the motor. The device does not have brushes; commutation is done electronically by the servo amplifier. As the weight of the device is over 20 kg, it should be moved and lifted only using appropriate lifting tools such as the lifting eyes. Unassisted lifting might result in back injury to the persons involved.
The AKM servomotor has the availability of an add-on kit for forced ventilation. This integrated fan enables up to 30% more power output for the motor. The user can mount the fan housing either with both supplied brackets and spaces or only with the brackets. The application decides the choice of mounting method. Use both spacers and brackets if strong vibrations are expected. Free airflow should be available for the motor fan. Maintain at least 25 mm space behind the fan guard. The motor tends to become dirty faster because of forced convection. The dirt deposits can lead to falling cooling capacity and put the device at risk. In the case of overheating, dust may burn. So, it is important to clean the air duct and the servomotor regularly.
