The AKM674P-ANCNDA01 is a synchronous servomotor from the house of Kollmorgen that comes with a shaft seal customization. The motor is intended for demanding servo applications. Combined with a Kollmorgen digital servo amplifier, the motor is suited for positioning tasks in machine tools, industrial robots, transfer lines, etc. The device is equipped with permanent magnets in its rotor. The motor should be operated only under the ambient conditions defined in the product documentation. The AKM servomotor is equipped with rotatable angular connectors for power supply and feedback signals. The delivery package doesn’t come with the mating connectors. The manufacturer can supply preassembled resolver and power cables if required. Only personnel with expertise in mechanical engineering are allowed to assemble the servomotor. It is important to protect the device from unacceptable stresses. Extreme caution should be exercised at the time of transport and handling to ensure the components are not bent and insulation clearances remain unaltered. The surface of the servomotor can be very hot in operation. The surface temperature can sometimes exceed 100°C. Before touching it, it is vital to measure the temperature and wait until the device has cooled down below 40°C. Remove any key from the shaft before allowing the motor to run independently in order to avoid the dangerous consequences of the key being expelled by centrifugal forces. The servomotor must always be used with a suitable servo amplifier from Kollmorgen. The motor should not be opened by the user. Opening the device invalidates the warranty. If the housing is dirty, it can be cleaned using isopropanol or a similar chemical. Immersing and spraying must be avoided under any circumstances.
