Product Description
The AKM54K-ACCNR-01 servomotor is manufactured by Kollmorgen. This servomotor belongs to the AKM series of motors that work along with a digital SERVOSTAR servoamplifier. The device must make use of only frictionally-locking and backlash-free couplings or collets as far as possible. The couplings should be aligned properly to avoid unacceptable vibrations that can destroy them as well as the bearings. The servoamplifier settings must be done taking the number of poles in the motor and resolver into consideration. The motor should not be subject to axial loads at the shaft as it can lessen the lifetime of the motor.
The servomotor has a static friction torque of 0.077Nm. The control and power cables must be kept at a minimum distance of 20cm from each other. The motor and servoamplifier must have proper grounding. The motor casing and mounting plate should also be grounded. The cables carrying a heavy current must have a cross-section according to EN 60204 specifications. If the output current rating of the servoamplifier is between 1 and 6A, the leads of the motor cable must have a maximum diameter of 4 x 1mm2. The shielding must be connected through a wide surface-area contact and EMC cable glands or metalized connector housings.
The power and resolver connections of the synchronous motor must be done using preassembled shielded cables from the manufacturer. The insulating material of the sheathing is made of polyurethane. The UL Listed cables can be used for trailing and have a lifetime of one million bending cycles. The servomotor and the servoamplifier must be commissioned independently in multi-axis systems. The rotor should be checked for free revolution without any grinding noises. The motor tends to experience oscillation when the amplifier gain is very high or there is a break in the resolver cable shielding. The servomotor can be shipped worldwide with a one-year warranty.
