The AKM53G-CCCNR-00 is a synchronous servomotor manufactured by Kollmorgen. The motor is equipped with angular connectors which can be rotated. These connectors facilitate power supply and feedback signals. The basic mounting style for the motor is IM B5. The device comes with Class F insulation. There are a total of 10 poles in the device. The unit has a keyway shaft. The shaft is balanced with a short (half) key. Only qualified personnel with expertise in mechanical engineering should assemble the motor. The motor must be protected from unacceptable stresses. Care should be taken when handling and transporting the unit to make sure the components are not bent, and insulation clearances remain unaltered.
The AKM servomotor can be connected using a three-phase industrial supply network. The device is precision equipment. At the time of storage and assembly, the shaft and flange may appear vulnerable and so, brute force should be avoided. The thermal time constant of the motor is 28 minutes. The standard weight of the unit is 7.4 kg. The device has a torque constant of 2.39 Nm/A and a voltage constant of 154 mV/min with a tolerance of +/- 10%. The standstill torque of the motor is 11.4 Nm and its standstill current is 4.77 A.
To wire up the AKM servomotor, the wiring diagrams provided in the Installation and Setup Instructions of the servo amplifier should be used. During wiring and assembly, the motor should be de-energized to avoid the risk of electrical shock and consequent damage. Also, the electrical connections should not be undone when the device is energized. A dangerous voltage that results from residual charge can be present on the unit’s capacitors for up to 5 minutes even after turning off the mains supply. Before touching the device, the DC-link voltage should be measured, and one should wait until it has dropped below 40V.
