Product Description
AKM servo motors from Kollmorgen are known to deliver a high performance despite having a small frame size. These motors are fitted with either straight or angular connectors to facilitate the connection of feedback signals and power supply. For precise positioning, Kollmorgen AKM servo motors support either single-turn or multi-turn Endat encoder, single-turn or multi-turn BiSS encoder, or an incremental encoder with commutation with a resolution of between 500 and 1000 lines. With this feedback options, AKM motors are suitable for use with applications requiring precise positioning. Some AKM servo motors are supplied with a fully digital resolver interface.
The Kollmorgen AKM52H-ANCNC-00 is a servo motor that belongs to the AKM5 family in the wider Kollmorgen AKM series. When connecting mechanical devices, the motor’s stress levels should not be exceeded and brute force should be avoided. For optimal operation, the motor should be mounted and operated in environments with adequate ventilation and free flow of cool air. The AKM52H-ANCNC-00 has a permissible operating temperature of between a maximum of 40 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 5 degrees Celsius at a non-condensing relative humidity of between 5 percent and 90 percent.
The AKM52H-ANCNC-00 is designed to be controlled through a Kollmorgen ServoStar digital amplifier to form a closed-loop torque or speed control allowing for precise speed or torque management. Without a holding brake and retrofitting a holding brake not possible, the AKM52H-ANCNC-00 is specially designed to be used with applications that are unlikely to cause unwanted rotation of the motor’s shaft at standstill. With a ball-bearing life of 20,000 operating hours, deploying the motor on the industrial floor saves on maintenance costs because the bearings are greased to operate for their entire service life.
