Product Description
Motion control is at the heart of automation. Increased control over motion systems increases productivity, eliminates wastes and boosts efficiency. Kollmorgen is a leading manufacturer of control technologies. The company has decades of experience with in-house manufacturing, design, and fabrication. This has matured the company’s supply lines and allowed it to dominate the industry.
The AKM51G-DSCNR-03 synchronous motor is the ideal system for a wide range of servo applications. The motor has a state of the art closed-loop system that makes complete control over speed, position, and torque, possible. The SERVOSTAR servo amplifiers are tailored for servo applications. The closed-loop feedback system records the resolver’s position constantly and generates corrective sinusoidal signals to adjust the resolver’s position. To avoid coil overheating, the winding temperature is continuously measured during operation. An electrically isolated PTC thermistor is used for this purpose. The motor has a 3.4 kgcm2 rotor’s moment of inertia. The low value of the moment of inertia helps the motor to achieve high-frequency reciprocating motion with ease.
The AKM51G-DSCNR-03 produces 1.22 kW power at its top speed. At a speed of 6000 rpm, the motor can produce 1.94 Nm torque. At a 400 V mains voltage, the motor’s top speed is 5000 rpm at which it can generate 1.37 kW power and 2.62 Nm torque. The most prominent feature of the AKM51G-DSCNR-03 is its neodymium permanent magnets. The rare earth magnets allow the motor to operate under high magnetic flux which is critical for satisfactory performance in highly dynamic conditions. The motor is designed in compliance with the IP 65 protection standard. The protection standard can be upgraded to IP 67 if a shaft sealing ring is used.
