Product Description
Modern control systems form the backbone of the 21st century industires. Whether it’s an automotive industry or a packaging factory, a printing press or metal work, all industries heavily rely on automation technologies. Kollmorgen is a company that specializes in the design and fabrication of automation technologies and motion systems.
The AKM51G-ANC2R-00 is a servo motor and belongs to the category of synchronous motors. The motor operates with a very effective closed-loop feddback system that comprises of an inbuilt resolver and servo amplifiers. The corrective feedback loop of the motor is activated every time there is a deviation from the required values of torque, speed, and position. Since the system is very sensitive, even a minor deviation from the pre-set values of operational parameters is noticed and corrected immediately. For the corrective feedback-loop, sinusoidal signals are generated are the resolver’s position is re-adjusted. The motor has a standstill torque of 4.75 Nm while the standstill current stands at 4.84 A.
The AKM51G-ANC2R-00 also stands out because of its neodymium magnets that are used in its permanent magnets. There are no commercially available magnets that are better than neodymium rare earth magnets in terms of energy density and magnetic flux. The rotor’s moment of inertia stands at only 3.4 kgcm2. Low inertia motors are always preferred for servo applications due to their ability to sustain short time high acceleration. At 230 V main voltage supply, the motor can produce 1.05 kW power and can continuously operate at 2500 rpm. Lastly, the motor has a brushless design. Brushless motors are known to require minmum maintenance and serve for long periods of time.
