Product Description
The AKM51E-ACCNR-00 is a synchronous servomotor from the house of Kollmorgen. The motor is designed to be driven by a SERVOSTAR servo amplifier under torque and/or speed control. The device should be operated only under the ambient conditions defined in the user manual. It should be noted that the surface of the servomotor can be very hot when it is live. Its surface temperature can exceed 100°C. For safety purposes, before touching the motor, one should measure the temperature and wait until the temperature drops below 40°C.
The AKM servomotor has a resolver built into it as the feedback element. The servo amplifier evaluates the position of the resolver and supplies sinusoidal currents to the motor. The basic mounting style of the AKM servomotor is IM B5. The device comes up to class F insulation material. The unit is equipped with rotatable angular connectors, which facilitate power supply and feedback signals. It must be noted that the mating connectors aren’t part of the product delivery package. However, a pre-assembled resolver and power cables can be supplied by the manufacturer. The motor has a peak current of 8.24 A and a peak torque of 11.6 Nm. The maximum mains voltage of the device is 480 VAC. The rated speed of the motor at 400 V is 2500 per minute with a tolerance of +/- 10%.
During the installation, care should be taken to ensure that the site is free of aggressive and conductive material. Make sure the motor has unimpeded ventilation. Permissible ambient and flange temperatures must be observed. In the case of ambient temperature above 40°C, the user should consult the applications department of the manufacturer well in advance. When the motor is energized, its electrical connections should not be undone. It’s because a dangerous voltage can still be present on the capacitors (up to five minutes) even after turning off the mains supply.
