Kollmorgen Company manufactures the AKM44G-BKCNC-00 synchronous motor. It falls under the AKM range of servo motors that are exclusively designed to be driven by SERVOSTAR amplifiers. The AKM44G-BKCNC-00 is designed for drives integrated into industrial machine tools, robots, and more. The motor should only be brought to operation under defined ambient conditions which include 3K3 climate category, 95% permissible humidity, 5 to 40 degrees operating temperature, and 1000m installation elevation. This DC brushless motor is designed for applications that demand high dynamics and stability. When used with the digital amplifier it is ideal for positioning tasks in industrial applications.
The AKM44G-BKCNC-00 comprises permanent magnets with rare earth magnetic materials. They enable the servo amplifier to drive it dynamically while bolstering its performance torque. The motor does not have brushes since the servo amplifier performs commutation electrically. The AKM44G-BKCNC-00 can only be brought to operation as part of an electric apparatus or machine. Mounting the motor is possible in three ways. IM B5 (shaft end, A-side), IM V3 (shaft end, upwards), and IM V1 (shaft end, downwards). IM B5 is the basic mounting orientation for AKM motors. When using IM V3 ensure no liquids penetrate the bearing since it can cause motor damage.
The AKM44G-BKCNC-00 comprises of a smart feedback device, 0.5m shielded cable with IP 65 connector with angular connectors, shaft with open keyway, and 84mm NEMA flange. It weighs approximately 5.3kg, has 10 poles, and has a maximum mains voltage of 480 VAC. Always protect the motor from unnecessary stress such as brute force. The shaft and flange are vulnerable especially during storage and assembly. Use the provided locking thread to tighten the couplings and avoid blows since it can lead to the destruction of the bearings and the shaft.
