Product Description
The Kollmorgen Company is a renowned producer of motors, servo amplifiers, and other motion technologies. Thanks to its advanced technology, it produces products suited for the future technology. The AKM42G-BKCNR-00 is such servo motor that is designed for industrial robots, machine tools, and packaging machines drives. It is driven by a SERVOSTAR digital amplifier in a bid to improve its performance. The servo amplifier drives it dynamically enabling it to be ideal for tasks that require high dynamics. The user is required to operate the motor under the stipulated ambient conditions.
The conditions include a 3K3 climate category, an ambient temperature of 5 to 40 degrees, and an installation elevation of 1000 meters above sea level. The permissible humidity inside the terminal box should not exceed 95%. The ball-bearing lifespan is capped at approximately 20,000 operating hours. It comes with permanent magnets in the rotor that have rare earth neodymium-iron-boron materials making it possible for the servo amplifier to drive the motor dynamically. The AKM42G-BKCNR-00 does not have brushes since commutation is performed electronically using the servo amplifier. The digital amplifier evaluates the position of the resolver and supplies sinusoidal currents to the motor.
Mounting the AKM42G-BKCNR-00 can be done through IM V3, IM V1, or IM B5 positions. The basic mounting orientation is IM B5 (shaft end, side-A). When using IM V3 (shaft end upwards), there’s a high probability of liquids entering the bearings. Avoid liquids settling on the shaft for long. Angular connectors are used for power supply and feedback signals. Both should have a protection class of IP 65. Avoid touching any part of the motor immediately after switch off since the capacitors carry fatal voltage for 5 minutes.
