The AKM42G-BKCN2-01 falls under the AKM series of Kollmorgen servo motors. Like other motors in this series it is designed to operate in conjunction with SERVOSTAR servo amplifiers for positioning tasks in a wide array of applications such as industrial robots, machine tools, and packaging and textile machines. It features a mains voltage of 480 VAC, 3.53Nm and 4.80A standstill torque and current respectively. The rated speed is 6000min^-1, rated torque is 2.35Nm, and the rated power is capped at 1.48kW. It weighs 3.39kg and has a static friction torque of 0.026Nm.

The AKM42G-BKCN2-01 features a NEMA flange of size 48mm, a G winding type, and a shaft with open keyway. It has a customized option which features shaft seal. The feedback is a ComCoder with 2048PPR while the connectors are angular and feature an IP 65 protection class. It comes in a brushless motor thanks to the servo amplifier that offers electrical commutation.
