Product Description

The Kollmorgen AKM42E-ANC2AAOO servomotor is a brushless DC motor designed for use in industrial environments. The servomotor should be driven only by servo amplifiers from the SERVOSTAR series under speed and/or torque control. The flange size of the device is 84 mm and its rotor length is 2. There is an in-built resolver in the motor as the standard feedback element. The device is enameled in matt black (RAL 9005). The permissible humidity rate of the AKM servomotor is 95% without condensation. A spring applied brake of 24V DC is integrated into the servomotor. When de-energized, it blocks the rotor. These holding brakes are designed as standstill brakes to increase the motor length and do not suit repeated operational braking. The motor comes with a keyway shaft and the key is inserted according to DIN 6885 specifications. The servomotor can be connected using a three-phase supply network. The device is precision equipment. The shaft and flange are especially vulnerable during assembly and storage, so brute force should be avoided. Axial loads should be avoided on the motor shaft, as much as possible. Axial loading tends to shorten the life of the unit. An incorrect setting might destroy the motor; so, one should take note of the number of motor poles and the number of resolver poles, and make sure that the correct setting is made in the servo amplifier used. Electrical connections to the motor should never be undone while it is energized. A dangerous voltage can still be present on the capacitors for up to five minutes after turning off the main supply. So, the DC-link voltage should be measured and one has to wait until it has dropped below 40 V before undoing the electrical connections to the device.
